Gülcemal (Gülcemal (dizi))

Gülcemal is a Turkish drama series from MF Yapım whose first episode aired on 6 April 2023. Yusuf Pirhasan directed it, and Eda Tezcan and Selda Akın wrote it. It ran for a single season, closing with its thirteenth episode on 13 July 2023.

Its premise is a love that starts as hatred. Abandoned by his mother as a boy, Gülcemal grew into a dark and punishing man; Deva is the woman swept into the fire and passion of his reckoning with that mother. Whether an unlooked-for attachment or years of stored-up hatred prevails, whether a hunter this cruel ends up the prey on a road paved with sacrifices, and whether Deva realises the impossibility of the whole thing once she finally gives in, supply the series with its tension.

Murat Ünalmış and Melis Sezen play the leads, alongside Ayda Aksel, Nilüfer Açıkalın, Nilay Erdönmez, Edip Tepeli, Meltem Akçöl, Cahit Gök, Atilla Şendil and Evren Duyal. Billed as drama and romance, it was broadcast on NOW.
