Murat Ünalmış — Biography

Murat Ünalmış was born on April 23, 1981 in Kayseri. Moving to Istanbul after middle school, he played professional basketball for Fenerbahçe in his youth; after graduating from the Business Administration Department of Marmara University, he trained as an actor at Akademi İstanbul.

Beginning his career with the series Kurşun Yarası and Sınırlı Aşk, Ünalmış appeared in series such as Üç Kadın, Şöhret, Sır Gibi and Kasaba, and made his real breakthrough with the character Mamo in the 2009 film Güneşi Gördüm. After the films Gecenin Kanatları and Newyork'ta Beş Minare, he took the lead role in the series Yer Gök Aşk.

The actor, who appeared in İnadına Yaşamak, Sevda Kuşun Kanadında and Deli Gönül, reached wide audiences with the role of Demir in Bir Zamanlar Çukurova, which began in 2018. Ünalmış, who took the lead in Gülcemal in 2023, is preparing to return to screens in 2026 with Show TV's series Sevdan Bir Ateş.
