The Plane Tree (Çınar Ağacı)

The Plane Tree (Çınar Ağacı) is a 2011 Turkish comedy-drama written and directed by Handan İpekçi. Celile Toyon stars as a retired teacher who acts as the driving force behind her extended family's gathering every two months beneath the plane tree that gives the film its name.

The cast also features Nurgül Yeşilçay, Nejat İşler and Ebru Özkan. The film opened on 18 March 2011, entering the Turkish box office at number two, and went on to rank among the year's highest-grossing Turkish productions.
