Nurgül Yeşilçay — Biography
Nurgül Yeşilçay (b. 26 March 1976, Afyon) is a Turkish theatre, film and television actress. She graduated from the Theatre Department of Anadolu University in 2001, playing classic stage roles such as Ophelia in Hamlet and Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire during her studies. She made her screen debut with İkinci Bahar (1998) and had her breakthrough as Bahar Karadağ in the series Asmalı Konak (2002). Her performance in Eğreti Gelin earned her the Best Actress award at the Adana Golden Boll Film Festival.
She reached wide audiences with Yaşamın Kıyısında (2007), Aşk ve Ceza (2010), Paramparça (2014) and as Kösem Sultan in Muhteşem Yüzyıl Kösem (2015), and stayed on screen with Gülperi (2018) and Kefaret (2020). After Son Nefesime Kadar (2022) and Veda Mektubu (2023), she made headlines in 2026 with her new-season series Ömür Usta. She has a son, Osman Nejat, from her marriage to actor Cem Özer.
