Asmalı Konak

Asmalı Konak is a Turkish drama series that aired on ATV between 2002 and 2003, directed by Çağan Irmak from a screenplay by Mahinur Ergün and Meral Okay. Filmed in Ürgüp, Cappadocia, the series drew a huge audience during its run and received the Golden Butterfly Award for Best TV Series.

The story follows Bahar, a young woman from an Istanbul bureaucrat family, who meets Seymen, heir to a wealthy Cappadocian dynasty, while studying in New York. After they marry, Bahar moves into the ancestral mansion of the Karadağ family, where the clash between her modern outlook and the region's deep-rooted traditions fuels a tale of love, intrigue and conflict. Özcan Deniz and Nurgül Yeşilçay lead the cast alongside Selda Alkor, İpek Tuzcuoğlu, Ege Aydan and Menderes Samancılar. The series was followed by a feature film sequel titled Asmalı Konak: Hayat.
