Taner Barlas — Biography
Taner Barlas, born in 1947 in Burdur, is a Turkish theater, film, and television actor, director, and writer. In addition to graduating from the Faculty of Law of Istanbul University, the artist completed the LCC Theatre School, developed his pantomime training in England and Poland, and founded MİM Theatre in 1984, serving as its artistic director for five years.
Barlas stepped into cinema in 1986 with the films Değirmen and Asiye Nasıl Kurtulur, and became known for films such as Berdel (1990), Piano Piano Bacaksız (1991), Seni Seviyorum Rosa (1992), and Amerikalı (1993). On television, he appeared in beloved series such as Asmalı Konak, Binbir Gece, Yaprak Dökümü, Kavak Yelleri, and Aşk ve Ceza.
More recently seen in series such as Yüksek Sosyete (2015) and Son Destan, the artist has also continued his stage work, directing the play Kürk Mantolu Madonna, adapted from Sabahattin Ali's novel of the same name.
