Broken Wings (Kırık Kanatlar) (translated)

Kırık Kanatlar ("Broken Wings") is a Turkish period drama series produced by Avşar Film. It ran on Kanal D from 2006 to 2007, spanning two seasons before concluding with its 36th episode.

Set in a small Aegean town, the story unfolds against the backdrop of the Turkish War of Independence and the founding years of the Republic. At its heart is Captain Cemal, an officer who falls in love with the fiancée of a soldier serving under his command and must reconcile his feelings with his duty while the wounds of war are still healing.

Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu, Özge Özberk and Cansel Elçin led the cast, supported by an ensemble that included Yetkin Dikinciler, Berk Hakman, Ceren Benderlioğlu, Begüm Birgören, Tolga Güleç and Cengiz Bozkurt. The series also reached audiences abroad, airing on MBC 4 in an Arabic dub recorded in the Syrian dialect.
