Begüm Birgören — Biography

Actress Ayşe Begüm Birgören was born on September 20, 1982 in Istanbul. She became interested in theatre at the age of thirteen and took her first acting steps at weekend courses of the Müjdat Gezen Art Center. She studied Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design at Bahçeşehir University and later earned a master's degree at Kadir Has University.

She made her screen debut in 2005 as young Eleni in the film Sen Ne Dilersen, but her real breakthrough came in 2006 with the role of Ayşe in the series Kırık Kanatlar. She consolidated her fame with the series Ömre Bedel (2009) and Kaçak (2013). In 2016 she played İnci in the series Umuda Kelepçe Vurulmaz; in 2022 she appeared in Son Nefesime Kadar and Tozluyaka.

In recent years she has turned to the stage, performing the play Plastik Aşklar with Oya Başar in London and on tour. The actress married Mehmet Cemil in October 2025.
