Father's House (Baba Evi) (translated)

Baba Evi (Father's House) is a Turkish drama series broadcast on ATV from 1997 to 2001. Made by Muhteşem Film and directed by Yusuf Kurçenli, it became known for its opening song performed by Aşkın Nur Yengi. Adapted from the first volume of Orhan Kemal's trilogy Küçük Adamın Romanı, the show lasted four seasons and concluded with its 135th episode on 8 June 2001; the remaining volumes of the trilogy later inspired the follow-up series Avare Yıllar and Cemile.

The plot follows the everyday life and passing years of a large household in Emirgan, Istanbul. Around father Mahmut and mother Nurten, the story traces the lives of daughters Bilge and Safiye, sons Çetin and Metin, and their wives Oya and Zeliha. At its core stand the clashes between the youngest child Bilge and her father, together with the shifting bonds among the family members.

The ensemble featured performers such as Ali Düşenkalkar, Ege Aydan, Sevinç Erbulak, Ayşegül Ünsal, Mine Çayıroğlu and Taner Barlas.
