Ayşegül Ünsal — Biography

Ayşegül Ünsal was born on 17 August 1973 in Istanbul, the eldest child of a communications professional mother and an architect father, and attended Beşiktaş Girls' High School. From 1992 to 1996 she studied acting in the theatre department of Istanbul University's State Conservatory. Her stage debut came with Yasemin Yalçın's company, where she danced, performed and assisted the director on the production Beni Biraz Yönetir misin?.

She reached television screens in 1993 with Yaz Evi, and went on to appear in Süper Baba, Baba Evi, Kuzenlerim and Gelin. Her character Melek Yazıcı carried over from the series Köprü into the film Vali. Playing Hasibe in Aşk ve Mavi (2016-2018) became one of her most memorable roles, followed by Akınay Hatun in Alparslan: Büyük Selçuklu and Feride in Yabani. She has been part of the Veliaht cast since 2025, and also appeared in the films Göl Zamanı and İngiliz Anahtarı: Recep Usta.
