Alparslan: Great Seljuk (Alparslan: Büyük Selçuklu) (translated)

Alparslan: Büyük Selçuklu is a Turkish historical action drama produced by Akli Film that premiered on TRT 1 on 8 November 2021. Directed by Sedat İnci, the series serves as a prequel to Uyanış: Büyük Selçuklu (2020-2021), exploring the state structure, political struggles and wars of the Great Seljuk Empire through the life of Sultan Alparslan. Filming took place at the TRT International Film Studios and locations in Sakarya, Istanbul and Kocaeli; Gökhan Kırdar composed the opening theme, while Kazakh musicians created the rest of the score with instruments from the Turkic world.

Barış Arduç stars as Alparslan, alongside a cast including Fahriye Evcen, Kayra Zabcı, Mehmet Özgür, Yurdaer Okur, Sarp Levendoğlu, Barış Bağcı, Gizem Karaca and Hande Subaşı. The second season began on 19 September 2022, and the series concluded after two seasons with its 61st episode on 6 November 2023. The production has drawn criticism from some quarters for altering significant historical facts.
