TV Series · 2021 · 12 people

TİMSBİ (Tims&B) Productions made the Turkish television series Teşkilat, which began on TRT 1 on 7 March 2021. Blending action, politics and drama in an espionage frame, it follows a special team inside the National Intelligence Organization and tells of its working and private lives together. The show has reached six seasons and 185 episodes, with episodes running about 135 minutes; its English title is Organization.

The story opens with a terrorist attack on the SİHA drone factory in Ankara. Once it emerges that foreign intelligence services organised the attack, a top-secret team is formed inside MİT. The team is ready to give up their lives for their country, and sets out to identify the forces behind the attacks and neutralise them by extraordinary means. Beyond the missions, the operatives' personal lives feed into the narrative; later seasons bring in new characters while some members leave. The cast includes Murat Yıldırım, Tolga Sarıtaş, Aybüke Pusat, Deniz Baysal, Çağlar Ertuğrul, Gürkan Uygun, Yunus Emre Yıldırımer and Mesut Akusta.

Directors credited include Yağız Alp Akaydın and Ketche, along with Burak Arlıel. The series is noted for its long run and strong viewing figures.

Through different eyes

Action & Thriller Fan Puts pace, tension and set pieces first; little patience for slow drama.

Teşkilat floors it from the first episode: an attack on the SİHA drone factory in Ankara, foreign intelligence services behind it, and a top-secret team set up inside MİT. The mission pace delivers the tension action fans want. The problem is length: in episodes of around 135 minutes, the private-life scenes squeezed between missions keep killing the momentum. With shorter episodes, it would be a much tighter thriller.

Series Binger A series devotee tracking character arcs, cast chemistry and season pacing.

Six seasons and 185 episodes: Teşkilat is a serious marathon for anyone who loves a long-running show. Telling the team's work and private lives side by side gives the characters depth beyond the missions, and the chemistry of the large cast carries the show. New faces in later seasons freshen things up, though it stings when someone you have grown attached to leaves. Over such a long run, a sense of repetition in the middle seasons is almost unavoidable; still, names like Murat Yıldırım and Tolga Sarıtaş are enough to keep you watching.

Family Viewer Asks whether the whole household can watch it; cares about humour and heart.

Teşkilat is a spy series built on sacrifice and love of country, but the story opens with a terrorist attack, so expect action and fight scenes. It may be too heavy and tense for young children. It works for watching with high-school-age teens. One more warning: episodes run about 135 minutes, which is very long for a school night.
