Fahriye Evcen — Biography

Born in Solingen, Germany, Fahriye Evcen comes from a family that is Circassian on her mother's side and descended from Kavala immigrants on her father's side. While studying sociology at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, she attended a television program as an audience member and was introduced to producer İbrahim Mertoğlu; after receiving a series offer she paused her studies, moved to Istanbul, and later graduated in history from Boğaziçi University.

She made her name in 2006 as Necla Tekin in the adaptation Yaprak Dökümü, then entered cinema in 2008 with Cennet and Aşk Tutulması. In 2013 she played Feride in another Reşat Nuri Güntekin adaptation, Çalıkuşu, and reunited with her co-star from that series, Burak Özçivit, in the film Aşk Sana Benzer. She appeared in Ölene Kadar and Sonsuz Aşk in 2017, and in Alparslan: Büyük Selçuklu in 2021.

She married Özçivit in 2017 and the couple have two sons; after a five-year break, she returned to television in the summer of 2026 in a new project alongside Oktay Kaynarca.
