The Governor (Vali) (translated)

Vali (The Governor) is a 93-minute Turkish action film directed by M. Çağatay Tosun, released nationwide in Turkey on January 9, 2009. Produced by Koliba Film, it serves as a cinematic continuation of the television series Köprü, which aired on Star TV between 2006 and 2008; the screenplay was penned by the series' director Çağatay Tosun together with its general coordinator Batur Emin Akyel.

The story revolves around Faruk Yazıcı, the idealistic governor of the Aegean city of Denizli, where engineers from the Turkish Mining Exploration Institute have discovered uranium reserves, and centers on the suspicious circumstances of his death. Erdal Beşikçioğlu leads a cast that also includes Uğur Polat, Şebnem Dönmez, İsmail Hacıoğlu and Özgür Çevik. The film ranked among the highest-grossing Turkish productions of 2009.
