Erdal Beşikçioğlu — Biography

Erdal Beşikçioğlu, born on January 5, 1970 in Ankara, is a Turkish actor, theatre director and politician. Immediately after graduating from the Hacettepe University State Conservatory in 1993, he joined the State Theatres; he appeared on the Ankara State Theatre stage for many years.

On screen he drew attention with his role as Governor Faruk Yazıcı in the series Köprü (2006-2008); his real fame came with Behzat Ç.: Bir Ankara Polisiyesi, which began in 2010. He reprised Behzat Ç. in the films Seni Kalbime Gömdüm (2011) and Ankara Yanıyor (2013) and, years later, in Çekiç ve Gül: Bir Behzat Ç. Hikayesi (2022).

In cinema he appeared in Barda (2007), Hayat Var (2008), Bal (2010) and Fakat Müzeyyen Bu Derin Bir Tutku (2014); in Bergen (2022) he portrayed Halis Serbest. He acted in the series Leyla ile Mecnun, Reaksiyon, 46 Yok Olan and Adı Efsane. Since April 2024 he has served as the mayor of Etimesgut.
