İpek Tuzcuoğlu — Biography

İpek Leyla Tuzcuoğlu was born on 11 November 1971 in İzmir. From age three to thirteen she trained at the Aynur Ressamoğlu Ballet Studio and once dreamed of becoming a ballerina; at sixteen she joined the dance ensemble of the İzmir State Theatre's production of "Boy Friend." After İzmir Karşıyaka High School she studied at Hacettepe University's State Conservatory in Ankara, graduating in 1994-1995 with roles in "Blood Wedding" and "Çamaşırhane." She then spent a year with the Ankara State Theatre's youth troupe in a play called "Sevimli Palyaçolar" and appeared in single-episode TRT dramas.

After moving to Istanbul in 1995, she appeared in series including Feride, Bizim Mahalle and Hicran Yarası, gaining wide recognition for playing Dicle on Asmalı Konak in 2002. Alongside many further screen credits, she also hosted programs such as Ab-ı Hayat, Lezzetli Sohbetler and Sağlıklı Mutfak. She took roles in Safir during 2023 and in Kıskanmak two years later, exiting that production in April 2026.

In December 2025 she told the press she had lost her aunt, Firuze Mısırlıoğlu, roughly a year after losing her mother. In interviews during summer 2026 she said she had only recently learned to pray and felt "very embarrassed" about it, and she posted on social media arguing that genuine acting cannot be measured by viewership numbers.
