Father Dearest (Baba Candır)

Baba Candır is a Turkish comedy and family television series produced by MF Yapım, adapted from the South Korean drama What Happens to My Family? It premiered on TRT 1 on August 2, 2015, ran for two seasons and ended with its 66th episode on May 18, 2017.

At the heart of the story is Salih, a pastry maker who, after losing his wife, struggles to be both mother and father to his three children. The plot is set in motion when Ceylan arrives from Ürgüp to remind Emrecan of a marriage promise he made to her eleven years earlier, after she saved him from drowning — a promise he has long since forgotten. Starring Settar Tanrıöğen, Melis Tüzüngüç, Uraz Kaygılaroğlu, Berna Koraltürk and Özgün Karaman, the series offers a warm family tale woven with misunderstandings and romance.
