Ece Uslu — Biography

Ece Uslu was born on September 9, 1974, in İzmir; she is the niece of actress Nedret Güvenç. Her parents separated when she was thirteen, and she was raised by her mother; the two moved to Istanbul together in 1988. Her stage career began early: she trained in ballet and music at the İzmir State Theatre, gained stage experience during high school with Şahika and Esat Tekand's Stüdyo Oyuncuları troupe, spent a year acting in Ferhan Şensoy's theatre company, and worked in commercials through a modeling agency.

She made her television debut in 1989 with the series İz Peşinde and her film debut in 1991 in Ah Gardaşım, starring Kadir İnanır; her role opposite Mehmet Aslantuğ in the adaptation Yalancı was a turning point in her career, and she landed her first lead role in 1993's Kıvılcım. In the second half of the 1990s she built her profile through high-rated series such as Sahte Dünyalar, Kara Melek and Üç Kadın, and through the lead role in Zerda in 2002; in Ölümüne Sevdalar she played Nina, a character of Greek descent. After a three-year break, she returned to television with Bulutların Ötesi in 2012, and between 2013 and 2016 her role as Ebru in Karagül brought her recognition beyond Turkey. She has since appeared in productions such as Sevgili Geçmiş, Şahane Hayatım, Siyah Kalp and Valley of Hearts.
