Dark Angel (Kara Melek) (translated)

Kara Melek (The Dark Angel) is a Turkish drama and adventure series that aired on Star TV from 1997 to 2000, produced by Eylül TV. Directed by Uğur Erkır in its first season and by Türkan Derya in the following ones, it ran for four seasons and 110 episodes, earning high ratings during its broadcast. Lead actress Sanem Çelik left the cast after the third-season finale.

The story follows Yasemin, a clever and beautiful woman who learns that her roommate Şule's father is the wealthy businessman and politician Nahit Saylan, and weaves schemes to take control of him and his fortune. Played by Sanem Çelik, Yasemin was a first in Turkish television: a villain as the main character, with episode recaps narrated from her perspective. The role won Çelik the 1997 Altın Objektif Best Actress award, and Yasemin Saylan was ranked fourth on Sabah newspaper's list of the worst TV characters of all time.
