Snake Story (Yılan Hikayesi) (translated)

Yılan Hikâyesi (Snake Story) is a Turkish television series produced by Yağmur Ajans that blends drama, comedy and crime elements; it aired on Kanal D from 1999 to 2002 and ran for three seasons, ending with its 90th episode. It follows Zeyno, who comes from her village to Istanbul, and the events that unfold as her path crosses with police inspector Memoli in the city's back streets.

The leading roles were shared by Meltem Cumbul, Memet Ali Alabora and Çetin Tekindor, with Ayten Gökçer, Süleyman Turan and Emre Kınay also among the cast. Known for dialogue that entered everyday speech and for the large following it built, the series won Best Series at the Golden Butterfly Awards (Altın Kelebek Ödülleri).
