Çetin Tekindor — Biography

Çetin Tekindor, born in Sivas in 1945, graduated from the Ankara State Conservatory in 1970 and began performing on stage. He taught stage technique and diction at Hacettepe and later Bilkent universities until 1998; dubbing Rock Hudson for TRT's foreign programming was among the earliest jobs that brought him wide recognition.

He became a familiar face on television in the early 1980s with Yücel Çakmaklı's Küçük Ağa, and in cinema in 1987 with Başar Sabuncu's Kaçamak. He played the character nicknamed Kral in Yılan Hikayesi and Ömer Arhan in Bir İstanbul Masalı. His most emblematic part came as the village elder Hüseyin Efendi in Çağan Irmak's 2005 film Babam ve Oğlum, for which he won Best Actor at both the SİYAD and ÇASOD awards.

He went on to play İhsan Kozcuoğlu in Asi, Nazif Kara in Karadayı and Celal Duman in İçerde, appearing as well in films such as Ayla, Babam, Av Mevsimi and Dedemin İnsanları, and as Çandarlı Halil Pasha in Mehmed: Bir Cihan Fatihi. After Yalı Çapkını he returned to screens in 2026 in Star TV's Çirkin. He has a son from his marriage to actress Zerrin Tekindor.
