Burçin Terzioğlu — Biography

Burçin Terzioğlu was born in İstanbul in March 1980, the youngest child of actor Yılmaz Terzioğlu and Makbule Terzioğlu; her brother Bülent Terzioğlu works as a director and her sister Buket Terzioğlu is also an actress. She first appeared on screen at five in the films Çıplak Vatandaş and Patron Duymasın, spending her childhood on the sets of series such as Perihan Abla and Mahallenin Muhtarları while training at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center. As a teenager she appeared in Yılan Hikâyesi and Çiçek Taksi, then gained wider notice for her role in Kadın İsterse.

Following her first lead role in Fırtına, she married her co-star Murat Yıldırım in 2008 and divorced him in 2014. She played the daughter of Ramiz Dayı, Azad Karaeski, in Ezel, and the character Deniz in Merhamet. Her role as Ayşegül opposite İlker Kaleli in Poyraz Karayel brought her a Golden Butterfly award for best actress; she and Kaleli were briefly a couple before separating in 2018. She went on to play Rüya in Netflix's Hakan: Muhafız, journalist Leyla Devrim in the FOX series Kurşun, and Nisan in the film Güzelliğin Portresi, then took lead roles in Hükümsüz for Exxen and Yalancı for Show TV, followed by parts in Asaf and Ben Leman.
