The Protector (Hakan: Muhafız)

Hakan: The Protector is a Turkish action, fantasy and thriller series notable as the first Netflix original series produced in Türkiye. Made by O3 Medya for Netflix, it is adapted from Nilüfer İpek Gökdel's 2016 mystery novel Karakalem ve Bir Delikanlının Tuhaf Hikayesi. Spanning four seasons and 25 episodes, the series premiered on 14 December 2018 and concluded with its final season on 9 July 2020.

Set in Istanbul, the story follows young Hakan Demir, a Grand Bazaar shopkeeper who discovers he is tied to an ancient order charged with defending the city against dark forces. Created by Binnur Karaevli, the first season was directed by Umut Aral, Gönenç Uyanık and Can Evrenol. Çağatay Ulusoy leads the cast, alongside Ayça Ayşin Turan, Hazar Ergüçlü and Okan Yalabık.
