Hazar Ergüçlü — Biography

Hazar Ergüçlü is a Turkish Cypriot actress and producer born in 1992 in Nicosia. In her youth she took part in the theatre workshops of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality, and she began her professional acting career with the film Gölgeler ve Suretler (2010), directed by Derviş Zaim.

She first appeared on television as Simay in the series Kuzey Güney (2011); the character Eylül she portrayed in Medcezir (2013) brought her nationwide fame. She took leading roles in the series Analar ve Anneler (2015), Yüksek Sosyete (2016) and Hayat Sırları (2017); she played Hatice in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's film Ahlat Ağacı (2018) and Zeynep Erman in the Netflix series Hakan: Muhafız (2018). Ergüçlü drew great attention with the character Dilber in Yılmaz Erdoğan's İnci Taneleri (2024), gained international notice with Öldürdüğün Şeyler (2025), selected for the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival, and attended the Tribeca Film Festival in 2026 with the film Mutter.
