Mehmet Yılmaz Ak — Biography

Mehmet Yılmaz Ak, the youngest of six children, was born on 8 February 1986 in Diyarbakır. He began university studying international relations at Ege University but switched to the Theatre Department at Kadir Has University, where he founded a student troupe and later wrote the play 5. Basamak, which received an honorable mention in a 2008 national playwriting contest. After years performing in independent theatre, he made his television debut in 2013 with Ben de Özledim and went on to appear in a long run of series including İçerde, in which he played Yaşar, as well as Çukur, Halka, Ramo and Fatma.

He is best known for playing prosecutor Pars in Yargı between 2021 and 2023, and later took the lead role of Timur Yavuzoğlu in the Korean-format drama Bahar before departing after its second season. He has also worked in film, including Kırık Kalpler Bankası and Nekro, and returned to television in 2026 with the series Yeraltı. His honors include a Lions Theatre young-talent award and a 2022 best actor prize from Beykent University's communication awards.
