Öner Erkan — Biography

Öner Erkan was born on 4 January 1980 in İzmir and took his first steps toward acting through courses he attended while still in high school. He graduated from the Theatre Department of Dokuz Eylül University in 2002 and went on to earn a master's degree at Bahçeşehir University. His link to television began with hosting a children's program on TRT; after working as a dancer at the İstanbul City Theatre between 2002 and 2004, he joined the acting company Oyun Atölyesi, founded by Haluk Bilginer.

He launched his series career with Kuzenlerim in 2002 and reached wide audiences through Avrupa Yakası, İki Aile, Yalan Dünya and Mutlu Ol Yeter. From 2017 he won major acclaim as Selim Koçovalı in Çukur, then appeared in Bir Başkadır in 2020 and played Oktay Uysal in the Netflix series Uysallar in 2022.

His feature-film credits include Organize İşler, Kağıt, İtirazım Var, Ahlat Ağacı and Azizler, and his performance as Hakan in Bornova Bornova brought him the Golden Orange Best Actor prize. On stage, he twice won Best Actor of the Year at the Afife Theatre Awards, for his roles in Babamın Cesetleri (2013) and Dünyada Karşılaşmış Gibi (2019).
