Şenay Gürler — Biography

The middle child of a tailor's family, Şenay Gürler was born in İzmir on 26 November 1966. She married in 1986 and had a daughter, Duygu Yıldırım, then divorced, left a civil-service job and enrolled at Dokuz Eylül University, studying cinema within its Faculty of Fine Arts. She joined the theatre company of her teacher Şener Kökkaya, presented programs for TRT and took to the stage with İzmir Art Theatre during her student years; after moving to İstanbul she worked in advertising and dubbing, voicing Lynette Scavo in the Turkish version of Desperate Housewives for the channel e2.

Gürler began her screen career with Kaygısızlar (1994) and became widely known for playing Fatoş in Avrupa Yakası (2004); that same year her role in the film Korkuyorum Anne earned her a SİYAD supporting actress award. She played Selda in Acemi Cadı (2006), appeared in Küçük Sırlar (2010), played Seniha Sultan in Kaçak Gelinler (2014), and took roles in Şahsiyet (2018) and, as Azade Sancakzade, in Kalp Yarası (2021). She played Serap in the Netflix film Tam Bir Centilmen (2024) and Meral in the İyi Adamın 10 Günü trilogy, then took the role of Yeliz Aksel in the 2025 series Aşk ve Gözyaşı. In 2026 she appeared in the solo theatre piece Bu Hikâye Senden Uzun Osman. Gürler has been in a relationship with national billiards player Semih Saygıner since 2014.
