Butcher's Tune (Kasap Havası) (translated)

Kasap Havası is a 2015 Turkish feature film written, directed and produced by Çiğdem Sezgin. It marked Sezgin's feature-length debut; shooting took place in Istanbul and the film opened in cinemas on 9 December 2016. The principal cast consists of İnanç Konukçu, Levent Ülgen and Şenay Gürler.

The story follows Leyla, a seamstress, and Ahmet, a taxi driver she meets at a tavern, whose chance encounter turns into an unexpected romance. The age gap between them means little to the couple, but people around them openly disapprove of the relationship. As they move toward marriage, obstacles rooted in their pasts and present circumstances force themselves into the open. Despite mounting pressure, the two struggle to hold on to their love, yet the strain gradually reshapes their bond and leaves the future of their union in doubt.
