Poyraz Karayel

Poyraz Karayel is a Turkish television series that blends crime, comedy, drama and romance. Produced by Limon Film and written by Ethem Özışık, it premiered on Kanal D on 7 January 2015 and ran for three seasons, closing with its 82nd episode on 1 March 2017. Çağrı Vila Lostuvalı directed the first 62 episodes, with Osman Taşcı taking over from episode 63 through the finale.

The story centres on Poyraz Karayel, a disgraced former police officer who, framed by a conspiracy that cost him both his job and custody of his son, is sent undercover into Istanbul's biggest criminal organisation — where he falls in love with Ayşegül, the daughter of the mob's leader. İlker Kaleli and Burçin Terzioğlu head the cast as Poyraz and Ayşegül, with Musa Uzunlar as Bahri Umman; the large ensemble also includes İlker Aksum, Cem Cücenoğlu, Deniz Celiloğlu, Funda Eryiğit and İsmail Düvenci.

Filming began in 2014, and alongside Kanal D the series was also shown on teve2. Abroad, it aired in Serbia on Pink in 2018 under the title "Za mog sina", and all episodes were dubbed into Arabic in both Syrian and Moroccan dialects.
