Ünal Silver — Biography
Born Ünal Gümüş to a family from Rize, Ünal Silver was born on July 16, 1948, in Istanbul, and changed his surname for easier pronunciation while acting in Germany. He began his career there in the early 1990s.
He entered Turkish cinema in 2006 as Ayhan in Cem Yılmaz's film Hokkabaz. That was followed by roles in Yalancı Yarim, Sessiz Fırtına, Bir Bulut Olsam, Gönülçelen, Deli Saraylı, and as Atilla Sinaner in Kuzey Güney. In 2011 he appeared in the film Zenne and the series Benim İçin Üzülme, and in later years took roles in popular productions such as Poyraz Karayel, Aşk Yalanı Sever, Diriliş Ertuğrul and Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz.
After being treated for health problems for some time, the veteran actor died in Istanbul on August 29, 2023, at the age of 75, and was buried at Kurtköy Osmangazi Cemetery.
