Mordkommission Istanbul (Istanbul Homicide Unit) is a German crime television film series produced for the broadcaster ARD. Based on the Özakın novels by ZDF presenter Hülya Özkan, the series launched on 2 October 2008 with the episode "Die Tote in der Zisterne" and ran for 18 feature-length installments of roughly 90 minutes each.

Erol Sander stars as Inspector Özakın, a homicide detective who works his cases alongside his assistant Mustafa Tombul, played by Oscar Ortega Sánchez. The stories unfold mainly in Istanbul, with the final episodes set in Thailand and Greece; Nursel Köse also appears in the cast.

In November 2019, ARD Degeto managing director Christine Strobl announced that the final installment would be shot in South Africa in 2020 and that the series would then be discontinued.
