Numan Acar — Biography
Numan Acar was born on 7 October 1974 in the village of Kozoğlu, Kelkit district, Gümüşhane province, and works as a film and television actor of Turkish-German background who also produces films. Raised in Erzincan until age eight, he moved with his family to Germany in 1982, studied civil engineering in Wiesbaden, and grew interested in theatre, finishing that training in 2001. He entered the acting profession in 2003 and went on to found the production company Acar Entertainment, which focuses on German-Turkish co-productions; in 2007 he served as producer on the Turkish series Menekşe ile Halil, shot in Berlin. Wider international recognition came from his role as a terrorist character on Homeland, and he has since appeared in The Promise, In the Fade and Prison Break, as well as the 2019 releases Aladdin and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Based in Berlin, he continues to work on international film and television projects.
