Begüm Akkaya — Biography

Begüm Akkaya was born on February 8, 1991, in Istanbul. She completed her acting training in the Theatre Department of Istanbul University State Conservatory.

She made her screen debut in 2010 with the series Kapalı Çarşı and went on to appear in Uçurum, 20 Dakika, Bugünün Saraylısı and Altınsoylar. She played the character Elif in the Show TV series Aşk ve Gurur, whose lead roles were shared by Damla Sönmez, Mert Fırat and Alper Saldıran, and continued her career with productions such as Yeni Hayat and Bambaşka Biri.

Akkaya lost her father in a boat accident years ago, an experience she spoke about publicly only years later. Standing 1.68 meters tall with hazel eyes and born under the sign of Aquarius, she continues to work as an actress.
