Baki Davrak — Biography

Baki Davrak is a German actor of Turkish descent, born in 1971 in Bad Säckingen, Germany. Active in theatre, film, and television, he is known for roles in productions that bridge German and Turkish cinema.

He made his film debut in 1999 as Murat in Lola + Bilidikid. His career turning point came with The Edge of Heaven, directed by Fatih Akın and winner of the Best Screenplay award at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, in which he played German-language professor Nejat Aksu. He went on to appear as Fikret in Unutma Beni İstanbul (2010) and Bizim Büyük Çaresizliğimiz (2011), and in Kırımlı (2014).

His television career began in Germany with the 1992 series Wolffs Revier. In Turkey, he played Vasili in the Kanal D series Vatanım Sensin alongside Halit Ergenç, Bergüzar Korel, and Onur Saylak, and in 2020 appeared in the historical docudrama Rise of Empires: Ottoman.
