Murat Daltaban — Biography

Murat İsmail Rauf Daltaban was born on 5 May 1966 in Ankara and studied at the Theatre Department of Ankara University's Faculty of Languages, History and Geography.

Daltaban, who began performing in 1994, reached wide audiences through the 1999 production Salkım Hanımın Taneleri, then built his name with the character Kanber in the 2002 series Kınalı Kar and Ali Rıza in the 2005 series Hırsız Polis. He went on to appear in productions such as Menekşe ile Halil, Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne?, Ağır Roman, Şubat and Eski Hikaye, and portrayed the character Mümtaz in the 2015 series Poyraz Karayel.

Beyond acting, Daltaban is also known as a theatre director: he is among the founders of Istanbul-based DOT Tiyatro and served as general artistic director of the Nilüfer Kent Tiyatrosu in Bursa, bringing several stage productions to audiences there.
