Engin Benli — Biography
Engin Benli was born on 23 January 1970 in İzmir. After finishing vocational high school, he took on a string of jobs — factory worker, market vendor, model — while also pursuing sports such as football, boxing and taekwondo, and playing licensed basketball for Göztepe for a time. His growing interest in performance led him to pass the entrance exam for the State Conservatory of Anadolu University, where he trained in theater.
Benli began his stage career at the Ankara State Theatre, served as a trainee actor at the Bursa State Theatre between 1995 and 1997, and then spent many years on the roster of the Kocaeli City Theatre after joining it in 1997. On screen, he became known for playing police inspector Orhan in the series "Kanıt" and a doctor in the film "Bi Küçük Eylül Meselesi", later taking on roles such as Sinan Paşa in "Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem" and appearing in productions including "Diriliş: Ertuğrul" and "Creature".
Continuously active in film and television since the mid-2000s, Benli has carried the discipline of his theater training into a long screen career.
