Mustafa Avkıran — Biography
Born in Gaziantep on 3 March 1963, Mustafa Avkıran graduated from the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory in 1983 and joined the Istanbul State Theatre, later completing a master's degree at the same institution and serving for a time as director of the Antalya State Theatre. Together with his wife Övül Avkıran he founded the Antalya 5. Sokak Theatre in 1995 and İSM 2. Kat in 2000, and was also among the founders of Garaj İstanbul. His debut film role, in Sokaktaki Adam, brought him the Best Supporting Actor prize at both the 1995 Golden Orange Film Festival and the 1996 SİYAD Turkish Cinema Awards.
He launched his screen career with Ateşten Günler, and went on to take roles in the series Yılan Hikayesi, Kınalı Kar, Ezo Gelin, Yaprak Dökümü, Kuzey Güney, Filinta, Kaçak, Yeni Gelin and Çukur, as well as the films Kayıkçı, Mutluluk, Av Mevsimi and Delibal.
More recently he has appeared in Azize, İçimizden Biri and Adım Farah, featured in the 2025 film Bak Postacı Geliyor, currently plays Eyüp in the series Sahtekârlar, and joined the cast of Uzak Şehir in 2026.
