Burak Sergen — Biography

Burak Reis Sergen is the son of theatre artist Semih Sergen and opera singer Serap Sezer, and the older brother of actor Toprak Sergen; after playing licensed basketball for eight years, he graduated first in his class from the Ankara State Conservatory in 1984.

He completed his internship at the Bursa State Theatre before joining the Ankara State Theatre, where he later served as deputy director and director, and he also taught at Selçuk and Hacettepe universities. Alongside his state-theatre post, he acted and directed at private stages such as Tiyatrokare and Tiyatro Baykuş.

He played Murad IV in the 1996 film İstanbul Kanatlarımın Altında and reached a wide audience with the 2002 series Zerda. He became known for roles such as Galip Kozcuoğlu in Kara Sevda, İlhan Tepeli in Halka, and Baykal Kent in Çukur, and in 2025 played Saroz in Kuruluş: Orhan. He has married four times, and his most recent marriage in 2024 drew considerable public attention.
