Burak Sergen — Biography

Burak Reis Sergen, born on 9 February 1961 in Ankara, is a Turkish theatre, film and television actor. He is the son of theatre artist Semih Sergen and opera singer Serap Sezer, and the older brother of actor Toprak Sergen. After playing licensed basketball for eight years, he graduated first in his class from the Ankara State Conservatory in 1984.

Following his internship, Sergen was appointed to the Ankara State Theatre, where he served as deputy director and director; he also worked as a lecturer at Selçuk University and Hacettepe University and appeared on stage with private theatres such as Tiyatrokare and Tiyatro Baykuş.

Sergen, who portrayed Murad IV in the 1996 film İstanbul Kanatlarımın Altında, became widely known with the 2002 series Zerda and reached international audiences with his roles as Galip Kozcuoğlu in Kara Sevda and İlhan Tepeli in Halka. In 2025, he took on the character Saroz in the series Kuruluş: Orhan.
