TV Series · 2025–2026 · 8 people

Made by Bozdağ Film, the Turkish period series Kuruluş: Orhan ("Establishment: Orhan") follows Orhan, who ruled as the Ottoman Empire's second sultan, through his life and reign. ATV began airing it on 29 October 2025. It is the third part of the franchise that began with Diriliş: Ertuğrul and was conceived as the direct sequel to Kuruluş: Osman, which aired on the same channel from 2019 to 2025. The title was announced at ATV's "New Season Presentation" at Turkuvaz Media Group headquarters on 9 September 2025, and the first episode's date was confirmed on 14 October 2025. The series combines historical fiction, action, drama and adventure.

The narrative follows Orhan as he works to keep the young Ottoman beylik standing and make it larger, amid political rivalries, wars and personal conflicts. The capture of Bursa and the Ottoman move into Rumelia are its historical turning points. Mert Yazıcıoğlu plays Orhan Bey; Barış Falay is Şahinşah Bey, Onur Bay is Yiğit, Burak Sergen is Saroz, Şükrü Özyıldız is Flavius, Sevinç Kıranlı is Didar Hatun and Mustafa Açılan is Andreas.

Bülent İşbilen directed and Mehmet Bozdağ wrote the series, which Bozdağ produced with Fozan Khan. It ended with its 26th episode, broadcast on 10 June 2026.

Series Binger A series devotee tracking character arcs, cast chemistry and season pacing.

Conceived as the direct sequel to Kuruluş: Osman, which ran for six years, this is the third instalment of the franchise that began with Diriliş: Ertuğrul. The hardest job in an inherited story is getting viewers to accept a new lead, and Mert Yazıcıoğlu's Orhan Bey takes on that load and largely carries it. Ending after 26 episodes makes it far more compact than its predecessors, and turning points such as the capture of Bursa and the move into Rumelia give the season clear goals. If you haven't watched the earlier shows, though, the backstory of the characters and alliances may feel crowded in the first episodes.

History & Society Lens Asks about the period, the social background and what the work reflects.

The series takes as its subject a critical period, the reign of Orhan, when the Ottomans grew from a small beylik into an expanding state. The capture of Bursa and the crossing into Rumelia really were thresholds of that transformation. But it is worth remembering that the production describes itself as historical fiction: while the major events rest on history, the dialogue, intrigues and inner lives of the characters are largely the script's interpretation. A narrative built on political rivalries and wars leaves less room for the period's everyday life, its economy or how different communities lived side by side. Treating the series as a door to curiosity and reading about the era in history books too may be the most rewarding way to watch it.

Action & Thriller Fan Puts pace, tension and set pieces first; little patience for slow drama.

Wars, political rivalries and the capture of a city: on paper, everything is set for action. A big goal like the conquest of Bursa drives the season towards a clear peak. But in historical series like this, long talks and scenes of intrigue usually sit between the battles, so for anyone who lives for pace some episodes may drag. If you love a clash, Mert Yazıcıoğlu's Orhan Bey makes a lively centre.
