Nail Kırmızıgül — Biography

Nail Kırmızıgül was born on 3 September 1965 in Gaziantep and trained in theatre at Ankara University's Faculty of Languages, History and Geography. He began his acting career in the 1999 film Propaganda, sharing the set with veteran performers Kemal Sunal and Metin Akpınar, and reached wide audiences the same year as Inspector Cem in the series Yılan Hikayesi.

In the years that followed he became known for long-running television characters such as Cevher Şanlı in Arka Sokaklar and Ekrem in Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir, and appeared in series including Yılanların Öcü, Gamsız Hayat, Böyle Bitmesin, Firar and Rise of Empires: Ottoman, as well as films such as Toprağa Uzanan Eller, Mavi Pansiyon and Melekler ve Kumarbazlar; he also wrote a book titled "Şırrak". In January 2026 he left Arka Sokaklar, ending his thirteen-season run as Cevher Şanlı.

Over a career spanning more than two decades and close to 40 productions, he made headlines in July 2026 after publicly criticizing the neglected state of veteran actor Tuncel Kurtiz's grave.
