Şevket Çoruh — Biography
Şevket Çoruh is a Turkish theatre, film and television actor born on June 30, 1973 in Istanbul. With his mother's family from Sapanca and his father's from Artvin, Çoruh trained in theatre at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center; he became known with his "Kokoreççi" character in an internet commercial, staged the one-man play Caveman and founded the Baba Sahne theatre in Istanbul.
He began his screen career with Çiçek Taksi (1995) and stood out in cinema with films such as İnşaat (2003) and Eğreti Gelin (2004). Between 2006 and 2022 he played Commissioner Mesut Güneri in the series Arka Sokaklar; in 2026 he himself announced that the series, which ran for 20 seasons, had ended. Also loved as Gökhan in the Çakallarla Dans film series (2010-2024), Çoruh appeared in Aile Arasında (2017), Sıcak Kafa (2022) and Korkma Ben Yanındayım (2024).
