Construction (İnşaat) (translated)
Construction is a 2003 Turkish black comedy directed and produced by Ömer Vargı, released in cinemas on 21 November 2003.
The story follows Ali and Sudi, two labourers working on a building site owned by Nizamettin, the driver of a fearsome crime boss. One day their employers force them to bury a dead man in the site's backyard, and the pair soon discover that their construction site has become a popular spot for secretly disposing of murder victims. Although they harbour very different dreams, the two ordinary men find themselves trapped in this swamp of crime and search for a way out, a quest that even involves a fabricated scheme of posing as a sheikh. Through these tragicomic events, the film offers a humorous take on the dead ends people face in society.
The leading roles are played by Emre Kınay as Ali and Şevket Çoruh as Sudi, supported by a cast that includes Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan, Binnur Kaya, Bahtiyar Engin and Günay Karacaoğlu.
