Günay Karacaoğlu — Biography

Günay Karacaoğlu was born on 13 March 1971 in Kayseri as the third child of her family. She moved to Istanbul with her family in 1976. During her high school years she won a Best Actress award at a theatre festival she took part in. She enrolled at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center in 1991 and graduated in 1995.

She made her acting debut in 1994 with the series Şehnaz Tango and went on to appear in series such as Yeditepe İstanbul, Bizim Otel, Yarım Elma, Gönülçelen, 20 Dakika, Avrupa Avrupa and Roman Havası. She also established herself in cinema with films including Kahpe Bizans, Osmanlı Cumhuriyeti, the İnşaat movies, Çakallarla Dans 3, Deli Dumrul and Ailecek Şaşkınız. In 2017 she played Şükran in the series Hayati ve Diğerleri, and in 2021 she portrayed Zümrüt Korfalı in Aşk Mantık İntikam.

An award-winning stage actress, Karacaoğlu performed the one-woman play Aşk Ölsün in 2019. She married Prof. Dr. Saadettin Eskiçorapçı in 2025 and continues her theatre work.
