Abuzer Kadayıf

Abuzer Kadayıf is a 2000 Turkish comedy-musical film directed by Tunç Başaran and written by Kandemir Konduk. Produced by Replik Ajans, it was released on September 29, 2000.

The film follows Ersin Balkan, a university lecturer whose life is shattered when his pregnant wife is killed by glue-sniffing street children. Determined to open a rehabilitation center to help such children overcome addiction and rejoin society, Balkan realizes his modest salary will never suffice, so he reinvents himself as a singer. Under the persona Abuzer Kadayıf, he quickly becomes a nationwide sensation with hit albums, concerts and television appearances, but his fame and fortune soon put him on a collision course with the mafia. Metin Akpınar stars in the dual lead role, alongside Talat Bulut, Sibel Turnagöl, Özlem Savaş, Şebnem Özinal, Aziz Üstel and Binnur Kaya.
