Sedat Mert — Biography
Sedat Mert was born in 1975 in Istanbul. After graduating from a tourism vocational high school, he worked as a guide for a while; wanting to become an actor, he knocked on a producer's door and began his screen career in 1997 with the series Kara Melek alongside Sanem Çelik.
Later developing his craft through acting training, the actor took part in many series such as Dadı, Evdeki Yabancı, Aşkına Eşkıya, Kurşun Yarası, Parmaklıklar Ardında and Dağlar Delisi. In 2012 he portrayed Zaganos Pasha in the film Fetih 1453 and became one of the sought-after names in historical productions. He also appeared in the films Uluslararası (The International) and Sinema Bir Mucizedir.
Mert appeared before audiences in 2016 with 46 Yok Olan and in 2017 with the role of Olcay in the series İsimsizler; that same year he played Fikret in the film Bordo Bereliler: Suriye. The actor, who portrayed the character Misket in the series Barbaroslar: Akdeniz'in Kılıcı in 2021, returned to screens in 2022 with the role of Ertuğrul Gazi.
