Umut Kurt — Biography

Umut Kurt was born on 17 April 1981 in Erzincan. He began acting in amateur theatre groups in 1997 and, after graduating from the Müjdat Gezen Art Center, joined the Beşiktaş Cultural Center (BKM) actors.

He had his first on-camera experience in 2003 with Metropol Kabusu. He became known in cinema with films such as Organize İşler, Beynelmilel, Güz Sancısı, Kavşak, Labirent and Çanakkale: Yolun Sonu, and on television with series such as Hatırla Sevgili, Gönülçelen, Tatar Ramazan and Beni Böyle Sev. In the series Payitaht Abdülhamid, which began in 2017, he portrayed the character Kolağası Celal.

Continuing his career with productions such as Karakomik Filmler and Bağlılık Aslı (2019), Zeytin Ağacı and Kusursuz Kiracı (2022), Hayat (2023) and Asaf (2024), the actor joined the series İnci Taneleri in 2026 as the character Servan. Also known for playing the bağlama and singing folk songs, Umut Kurt married Melisa İnci in 2022.
