The seat of power: Abdulhamid (Payitaht Abdülhamid)

Payitaht Abdülhamid, known in English as The Last Emperor, is a Turkish historical drama and action series produced by Es Film, directed by Serdar Akar and written by Uğur Uzunok, Ayça Mutlugil and Hamza Akyıldız. It premiered on TRT 1 on 24 February 2017, ran for five seasons, and concluded with its 154th episode on 4 June 2021.

The story covers the final thirteen years (1896-1909) of the reign of the 34th Ottoman sultan, Abdülhamid II, depicting events such as the Greco-Turkish War, demands for land in Palestine, the First Zionist Congress and the Hejaz Railway project. Starring Bülent İnal in the title role, the series follows the sultan's struggle against adversaries ranging from Britain and Russia to opponents within his own palace. It has also drawn criticism for historical revisionism and for promoting antisemitic conspiracy theories.
