The Dove Flew Away (Güvercin Uçuverdi) (translated)

Güvercin Uçuverdi ("The Pigeon Flew Away") is an 89-minute Turkish comedy film directed by Selami Genli and Onur Kocal that opened in theaters on March 27, 2015. Its title is taken from a well-known Central Anatolian folk dance tune. The story follows a man who dreams of becoming a pilot but has only managed to earn the nickname "captain" as a municipal bus driver, and who keeps chasing that dream after convincing his blind mother that he really did become a pilot.

The cast is led by Atalay Demirci, winner of the Turkish talent competition Yetenek Sizsiniz, alongside Gökçe Özyol and Tuvana Türkay.
