Bizum Hoca

Bizum Hoca is a 2014 Turkish comedy directed by Serkan Acar and Yılmaz Okumuş. The story unfolds in a village near Trabzon: when the imam assigned to the village never turns up, the locals pick one of their own, a man everyone calls "Bizum Hoca" who is not a formal cleric. News that a hydroelectric plant is to be built in the village sparks a protest, and Bizum Hoca ends up leading the resistance, only for matters to grow more tangled when the real imam finally arrives. A Black Sea comedy woven around anchovies, football, nature and tolerance, the film stars Cezmi Baskın.
