Özge Borak — Biography

The daughter of Istanbul State Opera and Ballet head choreographer Selçuk Borak and ballerina Buket Borak, Özge Borak passed an exam at age eight to join the children's section of the City Theatres and later graduated from the theatre department of the Istanbul State Conservatory; from 1998 she took roles in numerous productions at the City Theatre. She first appeared on screen in 2003 with the series Kara Gün, became known in 2005 as Elif in Ihlamurlar Altında, and in 2009 played Rozêrîn in the Kurdish-language film Roja Reş.

She reached wide audiences as Müjgan in the Eyyvah Eyvah trilogy, winning Best Supporting Actress at the Sadri Alışık Awards in 2011 for the second film, and around the same years played Nezaket for a hundred episodes of Güldür Güldür Show. She portrayed Begüm in İstanbullu Gelin and Nurgül in Dedemin Fişi, won the competition Maske Kimsin Sen? in 2022, and appeared in the films Akif and Kum Zambağı; since late 2025 she has played Salkım in Kızılcık Şerbeti, and from 2026 appears in İstanbul Hatırası.

She was married to ballet dancer Bülent Şakrak from 2006 to 2010, and to actor Ata Demirer from 2012 to 2014.
